Meet the NCLC Team

Vicki Dennis, Director

Miss Vicki has been with NCLC since 2009. She has worked in the toddler room, preschool room. Miss Vicki has an Associates Degree in Early Childhood from Ivy Tech in South Bend Indiana. She has completed the High/Scope Curriculum Course. She also completes 20 hours of additional training yearly to keep up with changes and new concepts in the profession.

Characteristics that she brings to our center is her flexibility, leadership skills and her abilities to regain focus and structure.

Outside of work Vicki enjoys spending her time with her two grandchild and crocheting.

Ida Hawkins Lead Teacher

Hi! My name is Ida Hawkins. I attended I.U.S.B. and I.U.P.U.I.

I have a Masters Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education.

I have one daughter who is almost 12 years old, sweet and feisty. I love to travel especially to the islands.

My goals are to become fluent in Spanish and adopt a minimalist lifestyle and keep God 1st.

Erin Findley Assistant Teacher

My Name is Erin. I am the Assistant Toddler Room Teacher.

I graduated from Elkhart Christian Academy in 2013. I have been at NCLC for almost two years.

I spend my free time with my family. I grew up working in the nursery at church.

I have 11 little cousins that I absolutely adore.

Carrie Fiedler Lead Teacher

My name is Carrie. I have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been at NCLC for almost 20 years. I am the Lead Teacher in the two's room. During my time at NCLC I have worked with all the age groups that we serve.

I am a mom to two boys. I love to knit and be outside.

Katie McDaniel

Stacy Bortz Assistant Teacher

My name is Stacy Bortz. The children call me Miss Stacy. I have been at NCLC for almost 4 years as a part- time teacher.

I have a Bachelors Degree from Bethel University in Organizational Management. My experience with young children and special needs is over 10 years.

I have one daughter and four stepchildren. Not to mention a chihuahua!

My hobbies include: walking, swimming, shopping and spending quality time with my daughter.

Jackie Schell Lead Teacher

Jackie is the teacher for the 4 & 5 year olds. She has been with NCLC for 2 years. Prior to joining the NCLC Family Jackie worked at SBCSC for 14 years in the Kindergarten Room.

Jackie has two grown children and 2 grand babies. Jackie loves gardening and animals.

Kimberly Snouwaert Lead Teacher

My name is Kimberly but everyone knows me as Miss Kim. I am the youngest of 6 children. I've never been married and have no children (except yours).

I started working with children 39 years ago. I have worked with preschoolers for thirty seven of those years.

I like to garden, drawing and I love all kinds of animals. I believe God brought me to the field of preschool education and I thank him everyday that he brought me to Northwest Children's Learning Center.
